ECU Programming

Module programming and flashing with factory-level software, including setup and initialization of replacement modules.

How we do it

A replacement module is rarely plug-and-play. It usually arrives blank or with generic software and has to be programmed to that specific vehicle — VIN, options, and the correct calibration file — before it will communicate or function.

We flash and program with factory-level software, handle initialization and setup of replacement modules, run manufacturer software updates where they apply, and cover key and immobilizer related programming.

Every programming job ends with a verification scan so there's documented proof the module took the software and the network is clean.

What's included

  • Module flashing and firmware updates
  • Replacement module programming and initialization
  • Key and immobilizer related programming
  • Post-programming verification scan

Turnaround

Typically 1–2 hours, depending on manufacturer server time and the number of modules.

Typically needed after

  • ECM / PCM / ECU replacement
  • Manufacturer software updates or recalls
  • New module installed and not communicating

ECU Programming — questions we get

I installed a new module and nothing works — is that normal?
Very often, yes. Most modern modules need to be programmed and initialized to the vehicle before they'll come online. That's the step we do.
Do you need a stable power supply during flashing?
Yes — a voltage drop mid-flash can brick a module. We maintain supported voltage throughout the procedure.
